The Sunfood Diet Success System

One question that people interested in the Raw/Living food diet have asked me is how do you get started? Whenever you are making a big shift like that in your life, one thing you need is motivation..not just motivation to get started, but motivation every day.

So one of the very first things I recommend someone interested in living food is to get a number of books on the subject. Reading about these peoples incredible journey to new levels of health and happiness is really inspiring! At the top of my reading list is the Sunfood Diet Healing System. This book is really the best all around introduction to this diet that I’ve read. There are many different facets to it…practical, philosophical, artistic. It’s just a great book and in my opinion essential reading for raw foodists.

Just having motivating books like this around can help you get through a day when you’re really craving cook foods or detoxing. But this book is not just motivating, but gives you lots of great information. I believe the most important contribution is his model of the ‘food triangle’ which is about balancing the three main food groups (fruit sugars, fats and leafy greens) in different ways to accomplish different goals. I use this information every day.

I have the older printing of this book but have seen the new one. It’s a good quality hard-cover with lots of great color pictures. I highly recommend it.
