WHAT IS MYOFASCIAL RELEASE?
Myofascial Release is a therapeutic treatment that uses gentle pressure and stretching to facilitate the release of fascial restrictions caused by accidents, injury, stress, repetitive use, and traumatic or surgical scarring. This hands-on therapy is a powerful healing technique that restores your natural motion, and allows you to return to a pain free, active lifestyle.
WHAT IS FASCIA?
The fascia is a connective tissue that forms a three-dimensional web, which surrounds and supports the muscular, skeletal, and visceral (organs) components of the body. Fascial restrictions bind down and exert pressure and stress on your body and its soft tissue structures, causing pain and dysfunction. Like a pull in the yarn of a sweater, fascial restrictions can affect your whole body.
HOW CAN MYOFASCIAL RELEASE HELP ME?
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING THE SESSION?
This approach is successful because it seeks to find and treat the source of ailment rather than the symptoms that have developed over many years from your body's attempt to compensate. My work, using John Barnes' Myofascial Release techniques, helps relieve pain and discomfort by realigning your posture and releasing the restrictions that hold you out of balance.
Each Patient is assessed, and the treatment is designed to address restrictions reponsible for your pain and other symptoms. Sustained pressure is used to release restrictions and restore the normal elastic and gliding motion of the fascia. As the restriction releases and unwinds, you may feel a sense of letting go and greater relaxation.
